What do you think will happen if there was no money on earth?

stay beautiful [luv] asked:

I started to think of it when we were learning about the Native Americans and they used trade as currency. I was wondering if money wasn’t our official currency then would we go back to trading or if everything was free or what. I know its a slim chance of happening cuz really, we revolve around money, but i just wanna hear wat you guys think about it.

i think there would be one less means for people to seduce and use other people in the world
but also one less reason to get a job
come to think of it it sounds good both ways

It may surprise you that in most places on Earth, the Barter System is still used where there is a short supply of money or no money at all. You trade things or services of equal value.

It would shift to barter. This has happened many times in many places, look at the south during the Civil War, or the entire country in 1929. When money is without value everything else still retains its value and can be used for trade.

That would be cool, I guess. But I tend to think money as “points”, and dollar bills are just the physical form that you can hold in your hands. Credit cards are the “key to the box”, meaning they are the key to your bank account, where the points are extracted and returned for desired item. Checks are a physical form of points transfer.

Personally the world would be better if we went back to trading. Everyone has their own specialty or talent that they use to help their community thrive and everyone gives some of theirs in return for some of that the others have. In that way, it would be easier to get what it takes to survive instead of now needing money to get everything and who manages to get more of it while others struggle. Not a good system we have…

It will still be the same as today, you can always find smart, cunning and hard working people in any generations.

I think in todays world, people would freak out. Money has been the set trading. I meen, if your talent was washing pigs, (which is a cool job if you dont mind getting dirty,) how many pigs does it take for a leaf of bread? or a gallan of milk? or gas? were your boss decides what you get paid rather then five or six diffrent people telling you how many pigs you need to wash for bread.
